I hope the start of your week is going well, this week is all about yes you guessed it, Easter! So read on to find out more!
YA – Maundy Thursday
This week there is no normal YA instead we are going to be joining in and helping serve at the Maundy Thursday meal at the village hall. The meal starts at 7 but if we you can get there for 18:45 to help with start helping with serving that would be really helpful. We will start with some worship have some a meal all together, a short reflection and some more worship. It’s going to be a really good way to start off the celebration and reflection of Easter and it would be great to see you and for you to be part of it.
One important thing to note is that this is going to be a agape meal. What this means is that at one point bread and wine will be shared this importantly is not communion but rather a informal sharing of bread and wine with a meal to symbolise how Jesus died for us. If you and your parents are happy for you to take part in this then we would love you too but you don’t have too. More will be explained on the night but if you have any questions about it in the meantime please do get in touch and I will be more than happy to talk it through with you. The meal will then finish at the usual YA time of 20:45.
Then on Good Friday from 15:30 – 16:30 starting in the village hall we are having a family Good Friday reflection service. This is where we will be journeying together through the different parts of the Easter story with opportunities for reflection, response and craft in each space. Good Friday is one of the most powerful and important parts of the whole church year, come and join us as we reflect on this together.
SMART – Easter Saturday Celebration
Then on Saturday we have a very special SMART where we will be playing lots of Easter games and activities and looking at Easter and the hope that it gives us. As always bring yourself, clothes for outside, food to share (bonus points if Easter themed) and come join us in Cloncaird from 17:00 – 19:00.
Finally the most important one of all Easter Sunday! Starting at 10:00 in church this will be a all age together service where we will celebrate all together as a church that Jesus Christ is risen come along and join in with the celebration!
We have so many things going on this week, loads of ways for us to reflect and celebrate Easter and what it means to us. If you have any questions about any of it please do let me know and I look forward to seeing you in the coming days!
